YOU CAN HELP!

It’s simple and together we can make a difference. Copy all six of these emails into your email client (you should be able to copy/paste the whole thing):

nik@oaklandzoo.org

council@oaklandnet.com

Your message will reach individuals at the Zoo as well as City Council. The City of Oakland owns the zoo. It is the citizens of Oakland who ultimately choose its direction. The City may claim to have “delegated” all responsibilities to the Zoo but it is the City that ultimately owns it. And it is the people of the City who chose its direction. Express how you feel about the issue in your own words. The goal is to let the Oakland Zoo to phase out of and to no longer house elephants in captivity, to move towards virtual safaris and other programs where no animal needs to become collateral damage in educating the public. Same for giraffes. And all too-large animals that are suffering in the name of education and awareness.
